Treat Your Body Like God’s Temple
Whether you believe in God or intelligent design, you have to marvel at the human body and how it works.
According to the Word:
Genesis 1:26-28. King James Version
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and overall the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
After reading this scripture, it became apparent to me: If I am made in God’s image and have dominion over the earth, shouldn’t I be eating from the earth?
If I am a manifest image of God, then my body should serve as his temple for Christ to dwell in it. Accordingly, my thoughts and actions should reflect the New Testament teachings. However, I also believe it should go another step further. If we need to think and act clean, we should also eat clean. Only then will you be able to achieve optimum health and harness your God-given ability to heal from the inside out.
God is perfect, he designed you perfectly and he went the extra mile to give you a body that can self-repair and self-heal IF you treat it right and feed it what you were meant to eat.
Do not disrespect God’s temple by feeding it the Standard American Diet (SAD). It is a sad diet indeed. Our modern foods are laden with so many pesticides and chemicals, especially those found in processed foods, that you can practically taxidermy yourself. Food additives, preservatives, trans fats, MSGs, colors, dyes have no business in our food, let alone our bodies. These chemicals and artificial ingredients are wreaking havoc on our waistlines and our health. [1] They offer zero nutrition and inflame our bodies and open pathways to diseases, including devastating auto-immune diseases. Generally speaking, we are an overfed yet malnourished and inflamed country.
Eat food the way it is found in nature a/k/a whole foods. Cook from scratch and use only real ingredients. Always read the labels and if you can’t pronounce an ingredient in a nanosecond, chances are high it’s not good for you and you shouldn’t be eating it. Don’t eat out every day because you have no control over the ingredients. Restaurants have to turn a profit. They are not going to use the best ingredients because there are expensive. Most importantly, most restaurants use soybean oil. This oil is highly inflammatory to the body. [2] .
Honor God’s temple and eat the foods He gave us on earth. Also, take advantage of His pharmacy. God gave us so many healing herbs and spices. No lab can recreate a synthetic version that can surpass what is found in nature. Powerhouse herbs and spices include, but not limited to:
Garlic (natural antiviral, antibiotic, anti-parasite, and anti-fungal)
Ginger (great for treating digestive issues and powerful cancer fighter)
Turmeric (powerful anti-inflammatory and cancer fighter)
Rosemary (an antioxidant that supports cognition and blood circulation)
Oregano (natural anti-viral and anti-bacterial)
Thyme (provides respiratory support and boosts immunity and reduces breast cancer risk)
Basil (powerful anti-oxidant and cancer preventative)
Cilantro (natural chelator of heavy metals, including mercury)
If you eliminate, or at least severely restrict, processed foods you will see a dramatic improvement in your health and mood. A good rule to follow is:
If God made it eat it, if man made it, avoid it.
Follow this rule and you will start healing from within and you will become a magnificent reflection of God from the inside out.
