Three Fat Burning Plants That Help You Lose Weight

The best place to look for a health solution is in nature.   There are several natural plant compounds that promote healthy weight loss and support your metabolism. Turmeric, Ginseng, and Aloe Vera are among the best examples of how you can use nature to look and feel your best.

Turmeric has been used as medicine for over three thousand years to treat wounds, colds, liver disease, arthritis, and many other ailments.  It manages oxidative and inflammatory conditions, metabolic syndrome, arthritis, anxiety, and hyperlipidemia [1] Turmeric reduces inflammation in your cells.  This enables your metabolism to burn calories faster. 

Turmeric is a versatile root, it can be grounded and used as a spice, taken in capsule form, or added to tea and smoothies. I take turmeric both as a supplement and use it for cooking.  Below is my favorite Golden Milk recipe that is rich in turmeric and other healthy spices.

Ginseng is phenomenal for not only increasing energy, lowering blood sugar and stress but also for boosting your metabolism. [2] You can take ginseng as a supplement, drink it as a tea or add ginseng powder into your smoothies.

Aloe Vera has been used since ancient times to treat skin and digestive issues.[3]  But did you know that Aloe has antimicrobial and metabolic properties? Drinking Aloe Vera juice can speed up your metabolism and help you burn fat.[4]  You can drink aloe vera juice or scrape some fresh aloe gel directly from the aloe leaf and add it to your smoothie.  
  

Ingredients:

  •   2 cups of coconut 🥥 milk (or other non-dairy milk of your choice) 
  •  2 tsp ground turmeric (you can grind the rhizome fresh or dry with a mortar and pestle) 
  •   1/4 tsp cayenne 🌶 pepper 
  •   ½ tsp of cardamom 
  •   ½ tsp of cinnamon 
  •   ¼ tsp of nutmeg 
  •   1 tsp vanilla 
  •   Pinch of black pepper 
  •   Honey 🍯 or stevia or monkfruit

Add all ingredients together in a saucepan and place them on the stovetop until warm.  Add the warmed milk to a blender and blend until it becomes frothy. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top and enjoy!
